We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team at Mamacitas. The Kitchen Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations to ensure efficient and high-quality food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Food Preparation: Prepare and assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces and spices.

2. Assist Cooks and Chefs: Collaborate with the chefs and cooks in various food preparation tasks, including cooking, grilling, and plating dishes.

3. Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.

4. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, receiving deliveries, and properly storing food items.

5. Safety and Sanitation: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment. This includes proper handling of food and adherence to health and safety regulations.

6. Teamwork: Work as part of a collaborative team, communicate effectively with colleagues, and provide support during busy service periods.

Requirements:

• Previous kitchen experience is a plus but not required.

• A passion for food and a willingness to learn.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.

• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
